HFK Update: With support of HFK: Excavators roll for the construction of the Regionaltangente West – A key component for more environmental transport policies in Hessia!
HFK has been advising on the rail project of the Regionaltangente West (RTW), which is very important for the Rhine-Main metropolitan region, for quite some time. The State Secretary of the Hessian Ministry of Transport Mr. Jens Deutschendorf (Green Party) confirms: The RTW is „a key component for more environmental transport policies in Hessia“.
Construction work now begins on the Neu-Isenburg intersection structure. Between excavator noises and sparks of welding machines, the RTW took a big step towards realization last Thursday. State Secretary Deutschendorf, representing the Hessian Minister of Transport Tarek Al-Wazir (Green Party), handed over the funding decision for the first section of the RTW "Süd 1". On the occasion of a construction site appointment at the Neu-Isenburg crossing, a planned track system under a state road, State Secretary Deutschendorf also confirmed that the Hessian state government, along with the federal government, is assuming a significant part of the construction financing with 20 percent. Accordingly, the state will pay about 37 million of the 189 million euros for the southern section. This should above all "relieve the financial burden on the municipalities".
